A Little Bit of Kansas Comes to Jersey

We were lucky enough to have Uncle Skip and Aunt Sandi come in for a long weekend to meet Reagan and celebrate her Baptism with us, AND even luckier to have Brei and Landon surprise us by coming in for the weekend, too!

Lots of hugs and love from Aunt Sandi

Comfy, cozy Friday night :)

Nice to meet you!

Reagan got dressed up in her tutu outfit and a big smile!

So cute!!
One more item crossed off Uncle Skip's bucket list... a cheesesteak from Gino's.  The guys braved the horribly plowed roads of South Philly to head to Gino's and get cheesesteaks.  "Wiz, with, please."

Landon definitely had the touch of making Reagan happy!
We totally appreciate the four of you making the trip out to spend the long weekend with us!!  We're sorry about all of the flight delays and whatnot due to weather on your trip going home, but we LOVED having you here and can't wait to take Reagan out to Kansas.

Snowday 1.26.11

These pictures are all from Wednesday 1/26 while the snow was falling fast in the morning hours.  We recently rerranged the living room and got rid of some furtniture to transform it into Reagan's playroom with all of her new toys and activity centers.  There's still lots of decorating to go to complete the playroom-esque design.

More photos to come from today's activities, especially since Ryan is home on a snowday with us!

The Ultimate Question

Whenever we introduce our happy little monster baby to anyone, the first question that seems to be asked is "Who does she look like?"  While Ryan is much happier to play the game of what features she appears to have from each of us, I kindly take the truthful road of "She looks like a baby" or "She's an even keel mutt mixture of us both."

And so, after 27 years of waiting, I finally saw a picture of myself from the day I was born... I kid you not when I make that statement.  Being the youngest the of three, pictures are not the priority when you are not the Golden Child first born.  If you're curious as to why I look like an alien... I was four weeks early and lacking the necessary fat to fill in my face.  I'm so fortunate that once I found it, it never left.  Lucky me.  Yes, I was a c-section baby... note the non-swollen delicateness of my face.  Alien looking?  Absolutely.  Swollen, old-man esque?  Not a chance in hell!

Here's all of our baby pictures on the day we were born... thoughts?  Because I think she looks like a newborn baby... not either of us.

Ryan Allan Peddle 9lbs7oz ??"

Reagan Olivia Peddle 6lb13oz 19.75"

As she ages though I think I start to see some resemblances of us, but I'm keeping my opinions to myself!  One thing is for sure... she is going to have her daddy's widows peak.

Ryan

And quite honestly, although pictures wouldn't agree and won't help my case, being that I look at her all day long and know her tendencies I happen to see a lot of my brother in her when I compare to his baby pictures.

Rick Bryan... 9/30/80
It'll be interesting as she gets older to keep comparing her to our pictures as we aged.  A few things I hope she gets from Ryan?  His brains and height!  Trust me, 5'1" is no fun!

2 Months Old Already

Reagan is two months old already.... very hard for us to believe.  She had a pediatrician appointment on Friday and she's growing like a weed.  She weighed in at 12 pounds even, putting her in the 90th percentile, and was 24" long, which puts her in the 97th percentile.  Hopefully she's going to be nice and tall like her Daddy!  Unfortunately, she also received 6 vaccinations, which made for a very unhappy Reagan that afternoon :(

Waiting for the doctor to check her out

So tired from the crankiness of the vaccines
On a happier note, Reagan is developing her own little personality and loves to laugh at her silly Mommy and Daddy.  I attached a video message we made to send to Ryan one day at work.  She's not impressed with the camera so I have to work harder to make her smile, but if you make it to 1m30s she throws a big smile out there.  She's starting to "coo" and make her talking noises at us, so we have plenty of conversations throughout the day!

Happy snowfall :)

Belated Holiday Greetings!

So the holidays are over, even though our house is still beautifully decorated, and I finally have some time to catch up with our blog.  The holidays are AMAZINGLY different when you have a baby/child to celebrate them with.  Sharing family traditions and enjoying their excitement (obviously Reagan had no idea what was going on) is what the season is all about.  We were lucky enough to spend the holidays with our favorite people, minus a few absentees, and see all of our parents/Reagan's grandparents.

Ryan and I hosted Christmas Eve here at our house, and even braved the cold to take Reagan to midnight mass... she was such an angel and barely made a peep :)  Yes, we were those people who took a newborn baby out in frigid temperatures to church.

A Peddle Family Christmas
Reagan got a playmat from Mom-Mom that allows her to play on her back or on her stomach... so we should get plenty of use of it for time to come.

Reagan and Mom-Mom

Wow, Daddy, look at my playmat!

Look at me!  I'm in the jungle!
Christmas morning brought a sleepyhead baby who barely noticed that Santa visited her overnight while she was sound asleep in her bassinet.  But that all quickly changed when we went to breakfast at her GrandPop & GrandMom's house... with her big puppy dog, too!  Reagan got some great gifts, including an exersaucer that she can use in just a few weeks time (as her neck becomes more stable), but it has a playmat that we can use now and have setup in her room for when we are upstairs.
Someone said presents???

Can't get enough of her GrandPop

Sleepy time with GrandMom

Thanks for my amazing presents, GrandPop & GrandMom!

Reagan just loves her GarndPop... and sleeping, too!

Roxie tore apart one of her new toys, an "indestructable", within minutes!
After a quick wordrobe change and restocking Santa's sleigh (aka Ryan's car), we made our way down the shore for Christmas dinner with Grammy and Pop.  Grammy got Reagan her super cute anywhere chair and lots of other really cool toys... including Ryan's favorite, the singa-ma-jigs!
Post-Christmas chilling in her "anywhere" chair... thanks, Grammy!

Reagan and Grammy... Reagan was very impressed at their matching hats!

Thank you to everyone for all of your love you share with our daughter, Reagan.  She is truly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in her life!  We love you all! xoxo
