Infant Room Recital

Reagan participated in her first school recital on Thursday!  And I say recital very generously as the infant room was only responsible for one song... Jingle Bells, which meant the teachers were singing along to music and the kids were supposed to shake their bells.  They all walked into the room bright-eyed to see a mass amount of people clapping for them and then they sat down in their line to begin their performance.  Unfortunately, once they all saw their parents they decided to make a run for it.  It was still an absolutely adorable attempt at Christmas cheer by the infants, loved it :)

She really was excited to go to school, despite the look on her face above.
She was just upset I put her down & couldn't pick her up right away.

Safe & sound with her Daddy, and ready to go on Christmas break until the new year!

Cousin Love

Seriously, how cute are these two?

Here Comes Santa Claus

Reagan met the big guy.... yes, SANTA CLAUS!!!!  Unfortunately, she wasn't as impressed with him holding her as she was when she was smiling and waving to the jolly man in red while her Daddy was holding her.  Her smile turned upside down and immediately the tears started rolling down her face.  Thankfully, the photographer was able to capture this iconic childhood moment in a very artistic way and it simply looks like Reagan is so enamored by Santa that she just couldn't take her eyes off of him :)

On a bah-hum-bug note, Santa's schedule for taking pictures was extremely inconvenient to those of us mall go-ers who thought we had a good idea getting there before the dinner hour.  We arrived at Santa's traveling workshop at about 4:15 only to find out that Santa was done with pictures and wouldn't be returning until 6:05.  That meant we had to occupy ourselves and tired mini-toddler for almost two hours while not completely ruining her outfit (or mood).  You would think with how busy this man is for the month of December that he'd be prepared for the long haul of picture taking and present giving, and not worried about dinner breaks during busy hours!

A Typical Saturday in Our House

So a typical Saturday morning in our house consists of waking up around 7, getting Reagan from her crib and bringing her into bed with us for quality snuggle time.  After about 45 seconds of this, Reagan decides it's time to see if Mickey ("ickey") is on the TV or not, which entails climbing around the bed until she finds the remote on either of our nightstands and then going "ickey" while handing us said remote.  Not long after this charade, Reagan slinks off the bed and starts making a ruckus of the upstairs... taking out anything she can get her hands on.

As we proceed to go downstairs, Reagan has her OCD list of priorities that have to be accomplished (and she lets you know in what order she wants to do these)... first is turn off the alarm, then turn on the ipod dock in her playroom for constant background noise and finally we go and say good morning to Roxie.  Pictures to come, but Reagan will actually sit on the floor next to Roxie's bed and just look at her.  After breakfast we usually do a wardrobe change, which results in Reagan wanting to run around the house in just her onesie and socks.  And for those of you that know Reagan, she is obsessed with her hat basket and will pick one out to wear around the house.

Family Time... FINALLY!!

Just in time for the Christmas season, we finally have our quality family time back!  Ryan finished his last final of his first semester at Rutgers Camden Law School on Monday night and obviously he's very relieved to have a much needed break in the weeks ahead.  So are Reagan and I :)

Our Pretty Princess Turned 1!

Reagan's 1st Birthday
November 8, 2011

It's hard to believe a year has gone by since we had Reagan and first brought her home from the hospital. It's amazing how much this little girl has changed from the completely dependent infant girl she was to our independent little girl who runs around the house with enthusiasm and energy enviable to all.

We have been so blessed to have such a over-joyous and healthy baby girl.  She has always been enthused to try everything out for herself and stares at her toys with such intent and curiosity, trying to figure out how every toy she plays with works... it has to come from her Daddy's engineering mind.  She started feeding herself finger foods over the summer, and started crawling over the summer as well so she could keep up with what the "big" kids were doing (aka Nella and Peter).  It didn't take too long for Reagan to figure out that putting one foot in front of the other means a whole new world of visual entertainment and being able to reach higher for things she wants!  She was walking by her first birthday and hasn't looked back yet!

We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends that were just as excited to celebrate Reagan's first birthday as we were!  She had a week long celebration of birthday parties, birthday breakfasts and dinners, and a house full of decorations fit for a Pretty Princess' 1st Birthday :)  She may be surprised to learn in the future that birthdays don't typically last weeks at a time!  Besides the first birthday theme, Baby Minnie Mouse was the center of our decorations since Reagan is obsessed with Mickey Mouse as many of you already know.  Thank you to everyone for your love, excitement and generosity as we celebrated her big birthday!!!!

Please enjoy the many pictures below capturing the wonderful celebration! (Many courtesy of Reagan's amazing Grandpop)

Reagan's First Halloween... Baaaaa

Yesterday was Reagan's first Halloween and it was quite a night to remember!  Aunt Jamie gave Reagan a Halloween headband and tutu she donned all day with her "Daddy's Under My Spell" shirt.  She had a spook-tacular day at home with her Mom-Mom playing with her toys.

BOO!
Daddy has school on Monday nights so we had an early family dinner with Mom-Mom, Grandmom & Grandpop and got Reagan dressed so Daddy could see her all dressed up as a Fuzzy Lamb.  Did someone hear a "baaaaa"??

Daddy's advice to Reagan?  "Only take the good candy!"

Reagan made the trip to our neighbors houses to show off her costume and say "Trick or Treat" or whatever "ahbadeada" means.  Needless to say, she was quite the hit amongst the neighbors..... and of course, didn't leave her lamb head on for very long.

We've Been Keeping a Secret

We've all been keeping a secret around here.... Reagan is going to be a BIG SISTER!!  We recently found out that I'm expecting another baby and am due on March 25, 2012.  We're all very excited and can't wait for all of the changes to come with having two kinds under two :)  x

(Please pray for our sanity.  And of course, a healthy baby #2)

Reagan's 1st Day of School

Reagan started her first day of school yesterday at The Malvern School of Washington Township.  She's attending school three days a week, Tuesday through Thursday, as I start to increase my work days with Lilly.  Ryan and I both took her since it was her first day, and she barely even noticed us once she got on the ground and saw the other kids.    When I went to pick her up in the afternoon, she was at the snack table (a large crescent-shaped table that has chairs insert in the middle so all the kids are contained and the teacher can feed all of the them) eating her watermelon snack I made for her.  The report from her teachers is that she is an incredibly happy baby and thoroughly enjoyed playing with the other kids.  So all in all, it was a huge success :)

Rev Your Engines

We officially have a Nascar crawler on our hands.  What started out as chugging along to get where she needed to go within 5 feet, has become a full blown "baby gets lost if you take your eyes off of her for a minute."

Reagan's favorite place to go?  The laundry room... either to torture Roxie or to find her toys, because apparently the mass chaos that belongs to her in the playroom isn't as good as Roxie's toys.  For those of you familiar with Roxie, she's obviously not impressed at all by the newfound movements of the large noisy toy (aka Reagan).

Reagan's First Attempt at Crawling... of course to get Aunt Jeanine's cell phone
Very proud of herself after crawling for the first time!
Crawling this morning to get my cell phone, after she caught me video taping her.
